Serial Number Video What does this mean?
In 1977, Ace Frehley, along with Mega-Band Kiss, was riding the meteoric wave of the world’s first hard rock, pop super group/marketing machine. Unlike anything the world had seen before, Kiss had taken music and performance into the main stream with a commercialized yet somehow authentic brand of Rock and Roll that changed the landscape of both music and live performance. Taking the stage in Budokan Hall, Japan along with his customized, three pickup 1974 Les Paul Custom, Ace Frehley was becoming one of the few rare and critically important influencers that defined the direction of rock and roll and inspired legions of dreamers to pick up the guitar.
In celebration of Ace’s legendary status as a rock icon, and the specific moment in time that solidified the same, Gibson Custom is proud to announce the release of the Ace Frehley “Budokan” Les Paul Custom.
