Wildwoodians, as I was playing some of my favorite Korn songs on this beautiful Custom Shop Wildwood Spec ES-335 through a dimed Twin Reverb, I was struck by a brilliant idea: what if unicycles had a second wheel? It would be so much more stable! Sadly, when I got to the patent office I found that someone else had already thought of it. While I was there, I did have another idea: what if we had an Instagram contest to see who can ruin a band name the worst by changing one word? Examples would be The Get Up Kids becoming The Get Up Middle-Agers, or The Yeah Yeah Yeahs becoming The Kinda Kinda Kindas. I also like “...And They Will Know Us By the Trail of Cheeto Dust.” Whoever comes up with the most cursed band name wins a free limited edition Moto Club t-shirt and the respect and admiration of the entire internet. In the darkest depths of the Murphy Lab, an evil creature filled with dark Iommic energy stirred from its centuries-long slumber, awakened by an arcane ritual performed by Gibson’s Tone Wizards. The creature lurched from its resting place, sniffed the air, pointed its nose west, and left a trail of sonic destruction across the US before it finally reached its destination: Wildwood Guitars. Ever since it arrived, it’s been dark and rainy, and there have been all sorts of odd noises emanating from empty places in the shop. Our shipping manager also swears he saw a ghost playing Stairway to Heaven on it when he came in early in the morning. Wildwoodians, we have dubbed this lovely PRS CE24 in Eriza Verde Smokeburst Richard Dent. Why does it deserve to share a moniker with one of a Hall-of-Fame defensive end and Super Bowl XX MVP with career 137.5 sacks? Well, because it’s just as pugnacious, big, and mean as the former Super Bowl Shuffler, but it’s a bit battered, just as Dent was in the season where he won a Super Bowl with the 49ers (people forget he was on the ‘94 Niners team that won it all). The injury is, well, a dent. It’s right by the input jack, and it’s about as wide and half as long as a pointer finger. It’s noticeable but not super glaring, and the guitar is still structurally sound.
Speaking of sound, the 85/15 humbuckers in this guitar sound fantastic! They sit somewhere near the middle on a scale of vintage to modern, and they give you the best of both worlds. They have the sweetness of a vintage pickup, but they sound richer with deeper lows and sparklier high-end, and they have outstanding clarity, articulation and balance. So, you can really ladle on the gain without any mush or mud creeping in. It’s the sort of humbucking sound that fits like a glove in almost any musical context except for polka, and it might even work there, too!
If you don’t mind that this guitar has a little war wound from battling in the trenches, you can snag a truly pugnacious player’s guitar at an awesome value here. I have no doubt Richard Dent will be your MVP too if you give him a chance (link in our story).

Wildwoodians, do you hear that? That terrible, terrible rumble? No, it’s not a low-grade earthquake, although the ground is shaking. No, the answer is far more frightening. An ancient leviathan—one from 1965, to be exact—has risen from its slumber and emerged from the deepest, darkest depths of Thunder Valley to wreak havoc, chaos, and destruction! However, if one were to tame this eldritch beast, one could wage war with titans and battle the warriors of Valhalla (although you may need an SVT with a fridge cabinet for the latter task). Seriously, this ‘65 Precision Bass is so cool that it invites all sorts of hyperbolic language. And, believe it or not, it has only had one owner since 1972! This bass is a true vintage treasure, so give us a call or drop us a line if you want to know more about the source of its dark powers.
